The Berlin based housing campaign ‘Deutsche Wohnen & Co enteignen‘ recently published a draft law for socializing large real estate companies like Deutsche Wohnen, Vonovia and others. After a positive referendum in 2021 and years of intensive work by a large team of lawyers and activists, the group now has a detailed law that can be resolved through another referendum. The law would affect around 220.000 flats and turn them into common property.
