Science writer and, formerly, European affairs journalist, whose work has appeared in Nature, Science, the New Scientist, the Atlantic, the Guardian, the New Statesman, the Nation and Jacobin, amongst other publications. Author of Austerity Ecology (Zero Books, 2015), and People’s Republic of Walmart (Verso, 2019). Spent the last 4 years retraining as a geologist and am currently attempting to enter the field of exploration geology, searching for critical minerals for the clean transition.
