Nikos Markogiannakis
Born and raised in Athens, now living between Berlin, Paris, and Vienna.
I hold a BA in Business Administration and a Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence from the Athens University of Economics and Business. I was once an intern in the Social Solidarity Economy doing consultancy for worker cooperatives in Athens, and once in sustainable finance at the Institute for Social Banking in Berlin.
From 2020-2022, I studied Economic Policies in the Age of Globalisation (EPOG2), an international master’s program on heterodox economics.
Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Vienna and the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR). My dissertation focuses on the Political Economy of Logistics Infrastructures, particularly Ports.
I spend the rest of my time digging for music, strolling around with friends, and plotting the end of capitalism.
My interest in De-centralized Planning stems from the belief that from small to large scales, we are all hanging together. Thus, maximizing human freedom while reducing inequality and misery can only be achieved through new forms of sociality on a planetary scale.
