In this article, the communist group AngryWorkers critically evaluate the merits and issues with the book ‘The Fundamental Principles of Communist Production and Distribution‘ with a focus on how it can inform efforts to construct a communist society through social revolution today.
The book was published in 1930 by the council communist Group of International Communists in order to envision a communist society in light of the developments in global capitalism in the lead up to the Great Depression as well as the trajectory of the 1917-1921 Russian Revolution, which they argued had resulted in state capitalism.
