INDEP members invited to Solarpunk Panel at Berlin Sci-Fi Festival on 19th October

INDEP members Walther Zeug and Eric Meier have been invited to the Berlin Sci-Fi Festival this year, happening on the 19th October. They are going to participate in a panel on Solarpunk, highlighting its connections to questions of democratic economic planning.

This came about after an organizer of the festival reached out to INDEP after listening to a podcast in which Eric talked about the question of the (missing) aesthetic representation of democratic economic planning and solarpunk as the dominant contemporary utopian aesthetic.

This is the first time INDEP has been approached by a cultural actor that is not directly linked to the discourse on democratic economic planning, but who is showing interest in it through their own mainly cultural and artistic lense. It also is another instance of democratic economic planning building connections with the topic of solarpunk. Another recent instance of that has been Raphael Arar’s artwork being part of a group exhibition curated by Solarpunk Surf Club.
