The Panel on Democratic Planning and the Environment at the London-based conference “Can Democracy Survive the Climate Crisis?” will consist entirely of INDEP members. The conference will take place on the 5th and 6th September, for more info check its eventbrite page. Here are the presenters and their talks of the respective panel:

  • Yousaf Nishat-Botero – Democratic economic planning in an age of climate crisis.
  • Jacob Blumenfeld – Socializing the Means of Destruction: Planning Decline.
  • Dougie Booth – Carbon constituencies and the transition towards a democratically planned economy.
  • Rabea Berfelda – Democratising Transformation: Thoughts on the socialisation of housing, land and energy.

Dougie Booth is a co-organizer of the conference and has reached out to us to promote the event and highlight the presence of so many INDEP members there. This is a great opportunity for UK based members to meet, show support, network and make friends. For any questions on the conference, feel free to reach out to Dougie via db23792@essex.ac.uk.
