The podcast General Intellect Unit has published an episode where host Kyle Thompson and our very own James Macumber discuss the essay “Beyond Capitalism—II” by Aaron Benanav that was published in New Left Review, which outlines Benanav’s proposed institutions for a multi-criterial socialism. In this sequel to Benenav’s first essay we examine his ideas on planning and how they fit into the possibility of a socialist commonwealth. Many of the criticisms we have of Benenav are addressed in his third essay, but we will address those responses in the third episode of this series. Please understand that this is an intermediate understanding of his work and that the full discussion will come to a close in the third episode.
