This talk will analyse the historical development of capitalist production methods from a cybernetic and political economic lens. Tom O’Brien will discuss the implications of Fordism, modern budget management, and the Toyota Production System of these developments for socialist planning, and why the emphasis on planning in the socialist economic discourse is misplaced.
